This sparsely-populated rural area northeast of Dallas contains 5,374 people in about 336 square miles, for a density of 16 people per square mile. It is home to 2,279 households, of which about two-thirds (1,475) are families.

The majority (58%) of 75426 are White. African-Americans form the next largest group, 32%. Only 8% of the population of this zip code is Hispanic.

The median household income in this area is $32,605. This compares to a Texas median household income of $72,607. Almost one of every five families (18.2%) lives below the poverty level, when adjusted for family size.

Poverty is not evenly distributed among the races. The median African-American householder’s income in 2013 was $26,922. This compares to an income for White householders of $38,284, and for Hispanics, the median income was $13,821.

South Dallas Fair Park

This densely-populated urban area just south of Downtown Dallas contains 15,231 people in only 8.4 square miles. It is home to 6,237 households, of which about half (3,186) are families.

Almost four of every five (79%) residents of 75215 are African-American. Hispanics form the next largest group, 12%. Only 7% of the population of this Zip code are White.

The median household income in this area is $23,332. This means that more than one-half of the households in 75215 have incomes under the Federal Poverty Level for a family of four, $23,550. More than one of every four families (27.8%) lives below the poverty level, when adjusted for family size.
